Besides baking daily warm and fresh bread, backstein.pm is a lover of warm and fresh sound. Not enough, it should be on three wheels. So they started the new project backstone_funk and asked us to design and build a mobile sound system based on a Carla Cargo Engineering heavy-duty trailer. One challenge was weight limitations; another was producing a rich bass exclusively with vinyl players. Proper damping helped, but we also tackled this challenge with a push-push configured subwoofer, which eliminates most enclosure resonances through its symmetrical design. The entire system is self-powered, delivering over six hours of full-force dance music. It features smart batteries and a pure sine wave converter that produces cleaner electricity than any household outlet.
