Two brands, one passion—enhancing the everyday music experience. With this shared goal in mind, we set out to design a sound system that perfectly complements JJ-Boooth's furniture. However, it evolved into a highly adaptable product that seamlessly integrates into a wide array of audio environments. The speaker system's adaptability is achieved through a fusion of analog features and cutting-edge software solutions. Its modular design allows for swift adjustments or mounting on walls and ceilings. MODULAR DESIGN

With its modular construction, all speaker parts are screwed or plugged into the solid wooden enclosure. This means that every part of the speaker can be easily replaced just using two hands and a screwdriver. A design ensuring a long lifespan for a speaker used as a daily professional tool. But to be honest, these heavy-duty transducers can last forever.

TRANSDUCERS

While designing this compact speaker with the benefits of digital amplifications we found a perfect pair of transducers. To achieve a natural sound, we opted for a fast 8-inch paper cone capable of a 12 mm peak-to-peak linear excursion. The woofer guarantees transparent mids and excellent transient response, thanks to its robust motor structure and low inductance. Starting from 2500 Hz, the full aluminum horn delivers clear highs with a radial dispersion of 70°.

SOUND CONTROL

Utilizing its DSP functions, the speaker provides three easily selectable presets for users. The first preset offers a flat response for transparent mastering, while the second preset ensures a warm bass and smooth highs, perfect for extended listening or DJ sessions. The third preset includes a low cut of 100 Hz, allowing for the addition of an optional subwoofer in the future. Advanced users can take advantage of the speaker's EQ for precise room correction.

MATERIALS

These compact speakers weigh 12 kg each, providing a sense of their sturdy construction. The enclosure is constructed with 18 mm birch plywood, striking a perfect balance between internal damping and stiffness. While the U-frame and base plate are manufactured from 5 mm thick aluminum. And on top of our speaker, the horn is die-cast from solid aluminum, ensuring a crisp high-frequency production without any resonances.

Do i need an amp or pre-amp?

The speakers are fully active, meaning each speaker comes equipped with a powerful amplifier. However, similar to most active speakers, they do not feature an easily accessible volume control. Adjustments to the volume should be made using your pre-amplifier or any other compatible device capable of volume control, such as a DJ mixer, streaming device, phono preamp with volume control, and so forth.

How can I connect these speakers?

These speakers seamlessly integrate into your system through various digital or analog options, providing two connection alternatives for each. You can opt for XLR for balanced input or RCA for unbalanced inputs. In a studio setting, we recommend utilizing the XLR connection for simplified cable management. The balanced signal in these cables minimizes distortion, especially when placed near power cables. Notably, the XLR-analog, XLR-AES, and SPDIF connections feature a through slot, facilitating the integration of a subwoofer. When using a digital signal, one speaker is designated for the left channel and the other for the right, with clear indications on the back of the amplifier.

Should I use them for HI-FI listening?

In such cases, the speakers already include a low cut at 100 Hz in their amps, allowing them to reach high levels, thanks to the incorporation of pro-audio transducers and a compression driver as a tweeter. This versatility makes these speakers well-suited for installations in music bars, restaurants, and similar settings.
