A tribute to the golden age of monitor speakers, built with today’s possibilities. The first pair was developed in a custom finish together with @naivstudios for the new Riviera Records store in Munich.
From now on, we offer this model as a custom solution for production and hi-fi environments—for anyone seeking a natural, uncolored sound with the right balance of dynamics and softness for non-fatiguing listening.
The acoustic platform stays; the appearance can vary to suit different budgets and needs—either as a straightforward professional tool or with a bespoke design approach.
The acoustic core is the high- and mid-frequency section. We time-aligned the AMT tweeter, via a custom waveguide, with a 6.5-inch midwoofer. With their flat diaphragms, both drivers deliver coherent phase response for wide, detailed imaging. Below 250 Hz, a 12-inch paper-cone woofer provides precise bass down to 30 Hz. An aluminum shorting (Faraday) ring, ±10 mm linear excursion, and well-controlled group delay in ~80 liters keep things tight. The system is fully active with the DSP tools needed for seamless integration.
Set-Up
2x Reference 12 (12" paper cone woofer, 6,5" compression driver, 3" AMT, vented, active)
2x Reference 5 (5" composite woofer, 1" soft dome tweeter, vented, passive)
2x Amping (125w mono-block, class-d, analogue high-pass)
1x Varia Instruments Mixer (2-channel rotary mixer, discrete class-a)
